Reporting a Case

Symptoms

Please follow the questions below to answer any questions you may have if anyone in your family have symptoms or test positive for Covid-19

Should my child attend the Academy if they have coronavirus symptoms?

NO

You need to book a test and the whole household needs to self-isolate until you receive your results. If your results are positive: please Report a Case.

Your child can return to the Academy if their results come back negative and has been without a fever for 48 hours. If you have not yet received your test results, your child should self-isolate for 10 days.

Should my child attend the Academy if they have tested positive for coronavirus?

NO

They should self-isolate for 10 days, commencing from when the symptoms first started (if asymptomatic: from the day the test was taken). If you develop symptoms after your test, restart your 10-day self-isolation period from the day the symptoms start. You should Report a Case if any test results are positive. If your child or anyone in the household has tested positive, the rest of the household should self-isolate for 14 days.

Your child can return to the Academy after 10 days self-isolation, even if they still have a cough or loss of smell/taste.

Should my child attend the Academy if someone in the household has coronavirus symptoms?

NO

The member of your household experiencing symptoms should get a test. Whilst awaiting the results, the whole household should self-isolate. If the results are positive, please Report a Case.

Your child can return to the Academy when the member of your household experiencing symptoms has tested negative and your child does not have symptoms.

Should my child attend the Academy if someone in the household has tested positive for coronavirus?

NO

If someone in your household has tested positive for coronavirus, the whole household should self-isolate for 14 days - from the day when symptoms started (or from the day of the positive covid test if asymptomatic).

Your child can return to The Academy when they have completed 14 days self-isolation, even if the child tests negative.

Should my child attend the Academy if NHS Test and Trace has identified them as a ‘close contact’ of somebody with symptoms or confirmed coronavirus?

NO

Your child should self-isolate for 14 days, even if your child tests negative. The rest of your household does not need to self-isolate unless they are also a ‘close contact’.

Your child can return to the Academy when they have completed 14 days self-isolation.

Should my child attend the Academy if they have travelled and has to self-isolate as part of a period quarantine?

NO

Please do not take unauthorised leave in term time. You should consider quarantine requirements and FCO advice when booking future travel. If you have been instructed to follow a quarantine procedure due to travel, your whole household needs to self-isolate for 14 days.

Your child can return to the Academy when the quarantine period of 14 days has been completed for the child, even if they test negative during the 14 days.

Should my child attend the Academy if we receive advice from a medical/official source that my child must shield?

NO

Please contact the Academy for further guidance.

Your child can return to the Academy when either the Academy or other agencies inform you that the restrictions have been lifted.
