CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2027/2028

As you may be aware, The Discovery Academy is its own Admissions Authority. In accordance with the DfE’s School Admissions Code 2021 guidance, as a school we must consult on our admissions arrangements when changes are proposed, and at least once every seven years.

The consultation period must run for a minimum of 6 weeks and will take place from Monday 15th December, 2025 to Monday 26th January, 2026 inclusive.

The Discovery Academy must consult with:

  • parents of children between the ages of two and eighteen
  • other person(s) in the relevant area who in the opinion of the admission authority have an interest in the
    proposed admissions
  • all other admission authorities within the relevant area
  • whichever of the governing body and the local authority is not the admission authority
  • any adjoining neighbouring local authorities where the admission authority is the local authority

To this end, the following amendment has been made:

  • The addition of Section 7
